Joan Burstein, the retail pioneer known as "Mrs. B," has died at the age of 100. For more than half a century, Burstein presided over Browns, a London boutique that established a global reputation for identifying and championing avant-garde talent.
Burstein was instrumental in the early careers of several of fashion's most influential figures, including John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, and Hussein Chalayan. Her leadership turned the boutique into a destination for daring design and emerging talent.
