Coco Robotics is partnering with BlindSquare to share real-time sidewalk hazard data with visually impaired pedestrians. The startup’s fleet of 10,000 delivery robots logs obstacles like construction zones and fallen e-scooters using onboard sensors. This data feeds into BlindSquare, providing spoken alerts in 26 languages to warn users 10 meters before a hazard.
Launching in six markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Helsinki, the initiative repurposes robot mapping data to help navigate urban obstacles. Read the full story at Fortune (subscription).
