The London EDITION has long positioned itself as more than a luxury lodging, treating its public spaces as sites for cultural intervention rather than mere hospitality. Its latest venture, a year-long partnership with London’s Design Museum, formalizes this ambition. The collaboration centers on "PLATFORM: Simone Brewster," an initiative that brings the work of one of the city’s most cerebral designers into the hotel’s social and culinary environments.
Brewster’s practice is defined by a rigorous exploration of form and heritage. Her work draws from a diverse range of influences—from the symbolism of ancient fertility figures to the complexities of African diasporic traditions. This intellectual depth is mirrored in her material palette; she moves fluidly between wood, copper, cork, and even hair, creating objects that challenge the boundaries between sculpture and functional design.
The partnership extends the museum’s reach into the hotel’s daily life, integrating Brewster’s presence through curated events at Berners Tavern and the Punch Room. By embedding high-concept design into the guest experience, the EDITION seeks to move beyond the traditional "art hotel" model toward a more integrated form of cultural patronage, where the designer’s voice becomes a fundamental part of the atmosphere.
