The humans are becoming self-sufficient, altering the very hierarchy of their organizations. It is as if the presence of the machine is forcing the human to play a new sort of imitation game, mimicking the machine's efficiency to retain their place.

I see it rather as an ecological shift. When a new competitor enters a habitat, the existing inhabitants must either find a new niche or face extinction. These fashion executives are behaving exactly like a population of beetles on a windy archipelago, losing their wings because flight has become a fatal disadvantage. They are shedding old organizational structures, what you call leadership, to survive the pressure of these artificial intelligences.
