In the wake of the successful Artemis II mission, NASA is attempting to translate public enthusiasm into institutional capacity. On Friday, the agency, in partnership with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), launched NASA Force—a digital gateway and recruitment drive designed to funnel high-impact technical talent into the nation’s air and space programs.
The initiative targets early- to mid-career engineers and innovators, seeking to fill mission-critical roles that underpin NASA’s exploration and research priorities. By streamlining the path from the private sector to federal service, NASA Force aims to ensure that the "Golden Age" of innovation described by Administrator Jared Isaacman is supported by a workforce capable of maintaining U.S. leadership in increasingly crowded orbital and lunar environments.
NASA Force is the aerospace-specific arm of the broader US Tech Force initiative, a government-wide effort by the OPM to modernize federal systems and accelerate innovation. According to OPM Director Scott Kupor, the program is designed to ensure the agency has access to the next generation of American talent. As the complexity of deep-space missions grows, the federal government is betting that a more agile, tech-centric hiring model will be the key to sustaining its momentum.
